After a first-round bye, top-seeded Celina begins its postseason at home against a Revere team coming off a playoff shutout.

Celina earned a week off. Now the Bulldogs get their opportunity to turn a strong regular season into a November run.

Celina hosts the Revere Minutemen on Friday, November 6, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Division III, Region 10 quarterfinals. The Bulldogs enter at 9–1 as the region’s No. 1 seed, while eighth-seeded Revere arrives at 7–4 after defeating Parma Heights Holy Name 21–0 in the opening round.

The Bulldogs answered their only loss with a convincing finish to the regular season. After falling 22–20 to Ottawa-Glandorf, Celina shut out Defiance 42–0 on October 23. That gave the Bulldogs two shutouts in their final three games, including an identical 42–0 victory over Bath.

Celina’s offense brings multiple ways to challenge a defense. According to the WBL’s final regular-season report, Noah Talmadge finished with 1,001 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. Quarterback Jett Warner added 669 rushing yards and nine scores while throwing for 1,321 yards, 22 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Containing both runners without opening opportunities downfield will be a central challenge for Revere.

The Minutemen arrive with some defensive momentum of their own. Revere has won three of its last four games, beating Barberton 28–7 and Kenston 28–12 before a 28–7 loss to Brecksville-Broadview Heights in the regular-season finale. Its opening-round shutout of Holy Name provided an immediate rebound and kept its season alive. Through 11 games, Revere has scored 244 points and allowed 200 — averages of 22.2 and 18.2 per game.

Celina’s defensive numbers offer another reason for confidence. The Bulldogs finished second in the WBL in rushing defense and total defense, allowing 102.7 rushing yards and 247 total yards per game. Adam Jacob recorded 111 tackles, while Matt Eicher added 78.

The opening possessions could reveal how this matchup takes shape. Celina will look to establish its running game and settle into rhythm after the bye. Revere’s opportunity is to force difficult third downs, limit explosive plays and keep the Bulldogs from building an early cushion.

The winner advances to the November 13 regional semifinals against either fourth-seeded Wapakoneta or No. 12 Padua Franciscan. For Celina, Friday is the first step toward making its top seed count. For Revere, it is a chance to follow an opening-round shutout with a road upset.
